The history of DC is tethered to politics, war, and American history.  It was founded in 1790 by the Constitution of the United States to serve as the Nation's capital.  It's been invaded and burned down, and the subject of riots, civil unrest, and, eventually, growth - to where we are today. Taken from Washington.org, "[a]fter more than 200 years as the nation’s capital, Washington has developed as a complex and layered city, with a distinctive character: both a town for locals, an international center of power and an amazing place to visit."

If you're interested in moving into the DC area, we have several licensed DC Realtors in our group who are experts on the local market and local communities, from the Wharf to Georgetown.
